Shoufeng Lan Receives MRS Graduate Silver Award

Shoufeng Lan received a Materials Research Society (MRS) Graduate Silver Award at the 2015 MRS Meeting, held November 29-December 4 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Lan is a fourth year Ph.D. student in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), where he is advised by ECE Associate Professor Wenshan Cai. Lan’s research on electronically controlled nonlinear metamaterials has led to a number of articles in high profile publications such as Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Nano Letters. MRS graduate student awards are intended to honor and encourage graduate students whose academic achievements and current materials research display a high level of excellence and distinction. Through this award program, MRS seeks to recognize students of exceptional ability who show promise for significant future achievement in materials research.
