With the year coming to a close, it is a good time to review what worked well in 2021 and what not did not - including benefits!

The opportunity to make benefit changes starts next week with Open Enrollment running from Monday, October 25 through Friday, November 5.

All benefits-eligible employees can begin to review 2022 options and plan changes by visiting benefits.usg.edu.

There are two required certifications to be aware of:

1. Working Spouse Surcharge: There will be a surcharge of $100 per month applied to spouses covered under the plan who work and receive an offer of coverage through their place of employment.
2. Tobacco Surcharge: A $100/per month tobacco surcharge will be added to monthly premiums for individuals (and/or any of their dependents) who use tobacco products.

The Virtual Benefits Fair will take place October. 25 to 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes live sessions, chats with vendors, and benefits information. Visit usg.vfairs.com to register and attend.

Georgia Tech Human Resources Benefits Department will also be hosting info sessions on the following dates:

• Wednesday, October 27 | 2 to 3 p.m.
• Tuesday, November 2 | 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Thursday, November 4 | 1 to 2 p.m.
