Cisco to Acquire Lancope for $452.5 Million

Cisco Systems said it plans to acquire Lancope, a privately held, Alpharetta-based network security company for $452.5 million. Lancope was founded by John A. Copeland, who holds the John H. Weitnauer Chair in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Copeland is also a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar and director of the Communications Systems Center.
