There are 5 easy steps to completing a successful OPT application.

1. Watch the OPT Tutorial
2. Complete The Final Assessment (you will find this link at the end of the video)
3. Make an appointment to apply for OPT with an OPT advisor
4. Mail the OPT application to USCIS
5. Begin your OPT

You will log in using your GT Username to take the Final Assessment. You must score at least a 90%, or you will be required to retake the assessment.

• February 6 is the first day you may apply for OPT if you are completing spring 2012.
• May 5 is the first day you may apply for OPT if you are completing summer 2012.
• September 16 is the first day you may apply for OPT if you are completing fall 2012.
