Book Donations Sought during Holiday Season

Primary tabs

The last few weeks of the year always present many opportunities for giving and helping others. Two such opportunities are available across campus, as both Enterprise to Empower (En2Em) and the Georgia Tech Library host book drives for children locally and worldwide.

En2Em is partnering with Better World Books, an online bookseller that donates a book to a child in need for each one it sells. Better World Books has raised $10 million to support libraries and global literacy and education programs.

Collections for the En2Em book drive will run from Dec. 4–16 with bins in the Old Civil Engineering Building, Student Center, Student Success Center, College of Management, Campus Recreation Center, residence hall laundry areas and Skiles. Both used and new books are accepted.

The Library’s book drive will help fill bookshelves for the pediatric patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The drive will run until Dec. 21, with collection containers at the Clough Commons CORE Desk, the Library rotunda and the Architecture Library.

Only new items are accepted because of hospital sanitation requirements. Books for ages 2–18, coloring books and crayons, dictionaries, journals, books on tape, DVDs, mp3 players and iTunes or Barnes & Noble gift cards are all welcome.
