The Resilience Playbook: Navigating Change One Step at a Time
Primary tabs
The purpose of the session is to give professionals a rapid, usable framework for understanding their own reactions to change, identifying the resources they need, and selecting concrete coping strategies when needed. By aligning emotional stages with transition resources, participants develop the confidence to move from shock or resistance to acceptance and growth, strengthening both individual resilience and team performance.
1. Explain the core ideas of Schlossberg’s 4 S model (Situation, Self, Supports, Strategies) and the Kübler-Ross emotional stages, and articulate how they intersect in a change experience.
2. Identify the three pillars of the Resilience Playbook—Mindset, Mechanics, and Momentum.
3. Apply a simple four-step “Change Step” process to a real-world change scenario, selecting appropriate coping strategies for the current emotional stage.
4. Practice a rapid self-regulation technique (the Reset Breather) that can be used immediately when stress spikes during transitions.
5. Commit to a personal “One Step Tomorrow” action, integrating the insights from the models and the playbook into a concrete behavior they will execute within the next day.
