LMC Students ‘Dream Big’ With Boys and Girls Clubs of America Commercial
Primary tabs
The project began in January when Tiffany Simmons encouraged Georgia Tech students to “dream big” during a visit to the organization’s headquarters. That idea became the foundation for a commercial created through a partnership with LMC.
Lila Parker, the student director, led the project after her concept was selected from six competitive pitches. Her ad, titled “Not Just a Dream,” portrays children imagining their futures before revealing that those dreams are already being realized through Boys and Girls Clubs programs.
A team of students worked together on the production, taking on various roles from filming to set design. The shoot spanned two days and included both on-location and studio work, with custom sets built by the students.
Throughout the process, participants gained practical experience in areas like pre-production planning, scripting, and equipment coordination. The final commercial will be used in television and YouTube advertising campaigns to boost awareness and donations.
Simmons praised the students’ professionalism and skill, noting their advanced capabilities. The collaboration is expected to continue annually, reinforcing LMC’s focus on providing real-world opportunities that prepare students for careers in media and film.
