Human Data Collection with the Emotiv 2.0 EEG Portable Device - Insights and Experiences
Valentina Rueda-Castro
Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico
Wednesday, September 3, 3:30 pm
JS Coon Building, Room 250
We are pleased to invite you to a talk by Dr. Valentina Rueda-Castro on her experiences conducting research with the Emotiv 2.0 EEG Portable Device, a 5-channel wearable EEG sensor. In this presentation, Dr. Rueda-Castro will share insights from her recent work and demonstrate that data collected with this device can yield publishable results in non-clinical studies. She will highlight findings from her latest publication in Scientific Reports, which was based on data collected with Emotiv 2.0.
BONUS: Following the talk, Dr. Rueda-Castro will also offer a hands-on demo of a data pipeline that takes researchers from data collection to a workable dataset using a VR headset+EMOTIV EEG set-up.
About the speaker:
Dr. Valentina Rueda-Castro is a psychologist with a PhD in neuroscience from the Università degli Studi di Palermo, Italy. She has worked at Tecnológico de Monterrey since 2017 and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at its Institute for the Future of Education (IFE). Her expertise includes brain stimulation techniques, EEG, and neuroeducation, and she has led projects exploring neurocognition across diverse learning environments (face-to-face, online, and VR).
About CHART: The Center for Human-AI-Robot Teaming (CHART) is a leading consortium of researchers and innovators dedicated to transforming how humans, AI, and robotics work together. Based at Georgia Tech, but with global membership, we explore the future of intelligent technology collaboration, aiming to redefine human-AI-robot interactions for the betterment of society.
