ISyE Hosts Inaugural Undergraduate Student Awards Ceremony

ISyE held its
inaugural undergraduate student awards ceremony and luncheon on April 19, 2011
where students, faculty, parents, and award sponsors joined together to recognize
some of ISyE’s exceptionally bright, highly motivated, and accomplished
students.

Systems Engineering Leadership AwardSanjana Rao and Aditya SinghalThe
Leadership Awards are given to the President of the Student Chapter of the
Institute of Industrial Engineers and to the President of Alpha Pi Mu, IE’s
honor society.
The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and
Systems Engineering Senior Service AwardYeun Jae KimThis award
is given to a senior who has provided exceptional service to the H. Milton
Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
Alpha Pi Mu Academic Excellence Award

The Alpha
Pi Mu Honor Society presents $500 to a senior with the best academic
achievement, including GPA, difficulty in the curriculum, research, and other
scholarly accomplishments.
Henry Ford II Best Junior Award

Henry Ford
II Best Junior Award is administered in the College of Engineering and given to
the student at the end of the third year with the best academic performance in
the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial Engineering.
ALCOA Scholarship

Scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to a senior with excellent academic
performance and service.
Kurt Salmon Associates Scholarship in Industrial
and Systems Engineering

Sanjana Rao, Jennifer Sisson and Timothy
Towns
The Kurt
Salmon Associates Scholarship of $1,000 is awarded to each selected senior in
the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. The
scholarship is based on academic merit and contribution in the school.
Jack C. Webb Scholarship
Nakul Chitalia, Jasmine Fu, Nicholas Hunt,
Breona Jenkins, Andres Salazar, and
Samuel Shew
The Webb
Scholarship is given to rising juniors and seniors in the H. Milton Stewart
School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
The cash award of $1000 each is based on extracurricular and community
activities, scholarship, and leadership.
Silent Hoist/Crane Company Material Handling
Scholarship
Colby Allen, Philip Pecher and Tim Wilson
The Silent
Hoist Scholarship is awarded to students in the H. Milton Stewart School of
Industrial and Systems Engineering who have excelled in the area of materials
handling. The cash award of $2,000 will be shared by Colby, Philip, and Tim,
who won second place at the CICMHE Design Competition 2010.
Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals
Scholarship
Aditya Singhal and Allene Tang
The Council
of Supply Chain Management Professionals Scholarship of $1,250 is shared by the
selected awardees who have a GPA of 3.0 or above and have contributed to the
supply chain engineering program at Georgia Tech.
The Frantz Family Young Entrepreneurs
Scholarship
H. Kumar Thanguda
This
scholarship, established in 2006, is presented to an industrial engineering
student who is interested in establishing a small business and gaining
financial freedom. The student must have clear business objectives and goals,
along with the demonstrated determination to pursue and reach those goals.
BP Georgia Tech Scholarship for ISyE Student

scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to an industrial engineering student who has a
minimum GPA of 3.0, a strong interest in the energy industry, and has
contributed to the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems
Engineering.
BP IIE Scholarship

BP
scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to an IIE officer who has a minimum GPA of
3.0, has contributed to IIE GT chapter, and has strong interests in the energy
industry.
James G. Wohlford Co-op Scholarship
Tyler Buffie
The James
G. Wohlford Co-op Scholarship is awarded annually to a senior Co-op student who
has displayed outstanding integration of his or her work experience and
classroom education. Selection is based on interviews with the Wohlford
Scholarship Committee and a brief essay.
Work Abroad: Work Abroad Student of the Year
John Witmer
The Work
Abroad Student of the Year Award is based on a recommendation by the employer.
The selection is made by considering all students who participated in the work
abroad program.
