Join us for a faculty-led conversation, where Georgia Tech experts discuss the causes, response and consequences of the catastrophe in Japan.

The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Brian Woodall of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, and participation from the audience is welcomed. [NOTE: The event will be broadcast simultaneously to Georgia Tech Savannah, PARB 239.]

Guests will have the opportunity to sign a book of condolence and encouragement for the Japanese people, and a number of organizations will be present for those who want to become more actively engaged in recovery efforts. 

About the speakers:

Pinar Keskinocak focuses on the applications of operations research and management science with societal impact (particularly health and humanitarian applications), supply chain management, pricing and revenue management, and logistics/transportation

Usha C. Nair-Reichert researches the economics and management of global enterprises, innovation and technology transfer, intellectual property rights, international trade and investment, and trade policies.

Glenn Rix is a professor whose research interests include geotechnical earthquake engineering, dynamic properties of soils, and non-destructive and non-invasive methods for site and material characterization in geotechnical and transportation engineering.

Glenn Sjoden an expert in integrated nuclear system design, simulation, optimization, and methods development for both nuclear power systems and radiation detection applications.  He has significant experience in non-proliferation research and engineering.

Brian Woodall is an associate professor of international affairs whose research focus includes comparative politics with an emphasis on Japan and East Asia, international relations, and the political economy.
