Kenneth Hyatt Distinguished Alumni Leadership Speaker Series

Primary tabs

CEEatGT presents distinguished alumnus John Huff, CE 68, who will share highlights from his extraordinary career in business, engineering and exploration. In three decades of leadership, Huff has helped Oceaneering International become the premier organization in underwater technologies. His pioneering advancements have served customers operating in a wide variety of harsh environments—from deep ocean basins to outer space. Huff began his career working for offshore drilling companies after graduating from Georgia Tech. This experience, and his penchant for adventure, eventually led him to became president and CEO of Oceaneering, which he transformed from a small offshore oil and diving company into a highly successful multinational corporation. Huff achieved this by tying oil exploration with deep sea exploration. In addition to many other achievements, the company developed the remote-operated vehicles that assisted in the exploration of the Titanic, the wreckage of the Challenger capsule, and the remains of the H.L. Hunley, a Civil War-era submarine.
