Intermediate Maya: Character Animation

Maya is a 3D graphics modeling and animation program. It is commonly used for things like game design and product modeling.

This is a more advanced class for those who understand the basics of Maya and 3D modeling. In this class we will be learning the rigging and animation of a cartoon character by creating facial expression and walking cycle animation. This class is for those looking to learn 3D animation for animated videos or games.

Required:

  • Bring your own laptop with Maya already installed.
  • Maya downloaded on your own machine. You can create a student Autodesk account and download a free version of Maya here: https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/maya
  • A 3-button mouse
  • A basic understanding of the Maya Interface and 3D modeling.

This workshop is open to Georgia Tech faculty, staff or students only.
