The influx of AI, robotics, and automation into the workplace has dramatically accelerated in the last year, transforming in-demand roles and skills inside and outside organizations. Perhaps surprisingly, those roles and skills focus on the “uniquely human” rather than the purely technical. According to a 2018 Global Human Capital Trends Report (Deloitte University Press), survey respondents predict tremendous future demand for skills such as complex problem-solving (63 percent), cognitive abilities (55 percent), and social skills (52 percent). * To navigate today’s constantly changing work environment and address cross-disciplinary challenges, students will need to be more team-centric, networked, and agile. 

The Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Office can assist our students in developing the social skills necessary to be successful at Georgia Tech and beyond. 

* Leading Edge | One-on-One Leadership Coaching 

In One-on-One Leadership Coaching, students are paired with a trained leadership coach to actively explore and improve their individual and team leadership skills through self-evaluation and feedback from others. They will design and conduct leadership experiments that put your new skills into action and grow their leadership capacity. The time commitment is five one-hour sessions throughout the semester. Meeting days/time are flexible. Encourage your students to foster their personal and professional leadership skills that will apply throughout their education and after graduation. 

The application deadline for the fall semester is Tuesday, April 16.

* Minor in Leadership Studies 

The Minor in Leadership Studies is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge of leadership theory, skills, and experience through a rigorous and multi-disciplinary program of study. Students will complete the program by applying their knowledge and skills through a project based experiential learning course. The minor is currently comprised of three tracks: Business, Global Engineering Leadership, and Public Policy, offered through the Institute for Leadership & Entrepreneurship at the Scheller College of Business, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the School of Public Policy.
