On Friday 14 April, we phoned each of UPS, FedEx, and DHL to carry identical packages to our contacts in:
- Ouagadougou: the capital city of Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta; in central Africa)
- Split, Croatia: home of the Palace of Diocletian
- Surabaya, Indonesia: Largest city on East Java
- Punta Arenas, Chile: capital of Patagonian Chile and southernmost town in the world
The packages have been picked up and are now en route. You can follow the race and (eventually) see the final results at http://www.warehouse-science.com/
You are invited to join the class Thursday 20 April, 9:30-11am in IC205, when Mark Sobolewski, VP of International Strategy at UPS, will visit ISyE 6202 to discuss issues of international freight and to describe how UPS handled our packages.
