Dr. Wang Zhenyao will present on, "The Development and Future of China's Philanthropy" with the Halle Speaker Series Luncheon Lecture.

Co-sponsored by the Confucius Institute in Atlanta, The Carter Center China Program, The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs (INTA) and the Center for International Strategy, Technology, and Policy (CISTP) -- Georgia Institute of Technology.


Dr. Wang Zhenyao is the director of the Center for Philanthropy Research at Beijing Normal University. Prior to his current post, he served as the director of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Security in China's Ministry of Civil Affairs. His previous posts at the Ministry of Civil Affairs include director of the Department of Disaster and Poverty Relief and deputy director of the Department of Basic-level Governance. Dr. Wang has also served as director of the Office of National Disaster Reduction and the Center for National Disaster Reduction.

Dr. Wang received an MA in political science from Huazhong Normal University, an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a JD from Peking University.
