Strategic Energy Institute Director Finalist: J. Carlos Santamarina

The Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Research and Innovation hosts Dr. Santamarina as finalist for director of the Strategic Energy Institute. During this lecture, he provide his vision of how Georgia Tech can best contribute to energy research and how he would achieve that vision.

About This Candidate:
Dr. J. Carlos Santamarina is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he holds the Goizueta Foundation Faculty Chair, and is also the co-director of the Center for Applied Geomaterials Research. His expertise is in the area of particulate materials and phenomena including diagenetic processes, fabric evolution, energy coupling, and environmental effects.
