Crafting a Teaching Statement

Faculty job postings in higher education typically require applicants to submit a statement of teaching philosophy. For many graduate students, this is a puzzling request. Do they want to know what I will teach? how I will teach? why I will teach? This workshop offers strategies and tips for writing effective teaching statements. Particular attention will be placed on crafting a document that is specifically addressed to the institution you are applying.
