The Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (IRIM) at Georgia Tech recently welcomed two new companies to its Industrial Partners Program: Factory Automation Systems and Intelligrated.

Founded in 1992 by Georgia Tech alumnus Rosser W. Pryor II, Factory Automation Systems is a systems integration leader in programmable controllers, drive systems, information solutions, and robotic systems. The company delivers solutions to manufacturers in a diverse range of industries, including building materials, automotive, metals, food processing, and paper. Headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., the company is co-owned by Pryor’s fellow alumnus and college friend, Mark Ligler.

Intelligrated is a leading North American-based, single-source provider of intelligent automated material handling solutions that drive distribution and fulfillment productivity for retailers, manufacturers, and logistics providers around the world. In addition to its corporate headquarters in Ohio, Intelligrated has key systems operations in California, Maryland, and Missouri, and certified manufacturing facilities in Ohio, Missouri, and Kentucky. The company has regional operations in numerous other states, including Georgia, and in several international locations.

IRIM’s industry partners are well positioned to take advantage of new technologies as they are developed, and its collaborative research environment provides companies with unprecedented access to some of the world’s best computer scientists and engineers.
