IMPACT Talk: John Jackson, State Bank and Trust

John Jackson has been a banker in Atlanta for over 30 years. He has advanced through the leadership ranks of Atlanta’s most prominent middle market banks. In 1991, Mr. Jackson moved to SouthTrust where his leadership responsibility grew from regional manager of East Metro Atlanta in 1991, managing an $800 million loan portfolio, to regional president of SouthTrust in Jacksonville, Florida.
In December 2004, Mr. Jackson co-founded Bank of Atlanta and served as the president and CEO. The bank was acquired by the $3 billion State Bank and Trust in 2014. Mr. Jackson currently serves as Executive VP and Market President of State Bank and Trust.
A DeKalb County native, John has a deep commitment to the Atlanta community. He serves on the boards of the Winship Cancer Institute, Covenant House of Georgia and the Carter Center Board of Councilors.He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He is married, has two grown daughters and currently resides in Fayette County.
Jackson will speak at Georgia Tech's IMPACT Speaker Series on Wednesday,September 30, 2015. All are welcome to attend.

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership". The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders.
The series is free and open to the public, and reservations are not required.
