(0331) Prof. Leon Sanche, Sherbrook University
Primary tabs
Prof. Leon Sanche, Professor of Physics and Medicine, Sherbrook University, will be giving a special short course/seminar series on March 31st. The two talks he will give will be
Fundamental interactions of low energy electrons with condensed molecules and applications
and
Mechanisms of DNA damage induced by low energy electrons.
Each will be about 40 minutes with a break for questions, refreshments, etc.
The first will be somewhat of a tutorial and the second will be more focused on his very recent advances in both theory and experiments involving DNA damage.
Prof. Sanche is a pioneer in the study of electron interactions with condensed targets and is one of the world leaders in understanding the inelastic processes which lead to damage of DNA, etc. He is also a long time friend and collaborator. He is an invited speaker at the ACS symposium on electron scattering with complex molecules that was organized by Thomas Orlando.
