Chemical genetics: From ad hoc to systematic

Chemical genetics is an emerging but rapidly evolving field, which integrates synthetic organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, among others. The long term goal of chemical genetics is to find selective small-molecule modulators for every function of every protein. This talk will cover both the traditional ad hoc approach and recent systematic approaches to chemical genetics studies.
