Multi-component Synthesis of Heterocycles and Domino Reactions Initiated by Palladium Catalysis

Palladium-catalyzed processes such as Sonogashira alkynylation or Alder-ene-cycloisomerization are excellent entries to domino sequences,1 and sequential and consecutive multi-component syntheses of numerous classes of heterocycles.2,3 Besides for functional chromophores4 this synthetic concept can be adapted for short and even one-pot syntheses of natural products and pharmaceuticals with antiparasital or kinase inhibitory activity.

In the lecture the concept will be introduced and outlined and representative examples will be discussed.
