Four Graduate Students Win National Awards

Congratulations to the following graduate students on the recent receipt of prestigious nationally-competitive awards:

Leonard Nyadong (Fernandez group), who has received one of just six $25,000.00 research scholarship awards for 2007-2008 presented by US Pharmacopeia.

Clint South (Weck group), recipient of a $24,000 ACS Division of Organic Chemistry Fellowship for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Shannon Watt (Collard group), who received a $200,000 NSF Discovery Corp post-doctoral fellowship that will fund laboratory research and development of programs in support of underrepresented minorities in science at the University of Michigan

Gary Dobbs (Mizaikoff group), recipient of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy's 2007 Graduate Student Award, which provides travel expenses to attend the 2007 Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS) meeting in Memphis, TN
