Raquel Lieberman Awarded the Blanchard Fellowship

The Blanchard Fellowship was initiated in 1999 by the endowment established by Elwood P. “Doc” Blanchard, Jr., a graduate of Chemistry.

Prof. Raquel Lieberman has been awarded the Blanchard Fellowship. This fellowship funds an assistant professor who is midway toward tenure (in the 3rd or 4th year). The major criterion for success will be maximum impact on the career of the awardee.

Raquel came to Georgia Tech in January 2008 as an Assistant Professor from her graduate work at Northwestern and postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Neurologic Diseases, Harvard Medical School.

Elwood P. Blanchard Jr., who earned a chemistry degree at Tech in 1953 and a master’s in chemistry in 1954, retired as vice chairman of the board of du Pont, headquartered in Wilmington, Del.
