NSF CAREER Awards Given to Two Chemistry Faculty

Primary tabs

Professors Raquel Lieberman and Jake Soper both received CAREER awards in 2009 from the National Science Foundation. The CAREER program focuses on early career development, and these grants are NSF’s most prestigious award in support of junior faculty who “exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research”. Dr. Lieberman’s grant will support her work on “Research and Education in the Structure and Function of Intramembrane Aspartyl Proteases” and Dr. Soper’s award will support his work on “Redox-Active Ligand-Mediated Multielectron Bond-Making and Bond-Breaking Reactions at Later First-Row Transition Metal Centers”
