Garver on New Leader of North Korea

Some in the military leadership may question the wisdom of a transfer of power to a young four-star general with little military experience, said John Garver, professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. "His position must be very weak...What do the generals think? We don't know."  Garver was commenting on the announcement from the ruling Central Committee of North Korea naming Kim Jong Il's youngest son as successor to the deceased dictator. Source: USA Today, December 19, 2011
