HPRG: Will We Run Out of Water?

The December meeting of the Healthy Places Research Group will feature a presentation entitled: "Will We Run Out of Water? Health Implications of Georgia's Drought."

Our guest speakers will be Tim Cash of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) and Betsy T. Kagey, Chief Epidemiologist at the Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Public Health.

The meeting will be held on December 11, 2007 (NOT HPRG's usual first Tuesday), from 7:30-9:00 AM.

Nell Hodgson Woodruff Nursing Building (next door to the Rollins Schools of Public Health where HPRG normally meets), in Room 110

Healthy Places Research Group (HPRG) is a collaborative effort of individuals interested in exploring the relationship between health and the built environment. The Group includes individuals form the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, the City and Regional Planning Program of the College of Architecture at Georgia Tech, the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development (CQGRD), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local and state public health officials, community leaders, and others interested in the relationships between health and the built environment.

The HPRG meets once a month from September to May to discuss issues and exchange information pertaining to health policy, impacts, and the built environment. Participation is open to anyone interested in exploring the characteristics and advancement of healthy places.
