More about the speaker:

Dennis Lockhart is the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.  In this role, he serves on the Federal Reserve’s chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).

Before joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Mr. Lockhart was a faculty member at Georgetown University, teaching in the master’s program in the Walsh School of Foreign Service. He also has extensive experience in the world of private equity and finance.  From 2001 to 2003 he was a managing partner at the private equity firm Zephyr Management, L.P., a firm based in New York with activity in Africa and Latin America.  Prior to joining Zephyr, he worked for 13 years at Heller Financial, where he served as executive VP and director of the parent company and as president of Heller International Group.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Lockhart held various positions, both domestic and international, with Citicorp/Citibank (now Citigroup) between 1971 and 1988.

Mr. Lockhart earned a B.A. in political science and economics from Stanford University in 1968 and an M.A. in international economics and American foreign policy from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in 1971.                                                               

 

About the Impact Speaker Series

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership".

The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders. Events for the series take place in the LeCraw Auditorium in the College of Management building at 4:30 pm on Wednesdays unless otherwise noted.

The series is free and open to the public, and reservations are not required.
