The Podcasting Professor: Using Video to Enhance Education

Primary tabs

Does it sometimes seem that there is too little time in class to cover what students need to know as well as provide an opportunity for guided practice, application, and discussion? This interactive workshop invites faculty to explore ways to use video technology to enhance lectures and thus set the stage for unique, in-class learning activities. In addition to demonstrating ways to use video technology, this workshop will explore the advantages and disadvantages of using this innovative way of teaching.

Join your colleagues for this luncheon seminar and consider how video technology can help you achieve your course goals. Faculty who are interested in pursuing this topic further will have an opportunity to become part of a summer learning team who will work on secific technological innovations for their course.

Seminar facilitator: Damon P. Williams, Ph.D.

Damon P. Williams, a 2002 B.S. ISyE Georgia Tech alum, received his Ph.D. in industrial engineering from University of Michigan in 2009. He currently serves the Georgia Tech community via a joint appointment teaching in the ISyE department and as a postdoctoral fellow for TA programs and graduate student development in the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL).
