DATHA Lecture: Patricia Griffiths, US Department of Veterans Affairs

Dr. Patricia C. Griffiths is a Gerontologist and Health Research Scientist at the Atlanta VA Medical Center's Rehabilitation Research and Development Center. Dr. Griffiths is an investigator in the Department of Veterans Affairs Birmingham/Atlanta Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at Emory University in Atlanta. She earned her B.S. in Psychology Summa Cum Laude from Trinity College of VT followed by a MS. and Ph.D. in Life-Span Developmental Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. Dr Griffiths’ research focuses on the design, implementation and development of culturally appropriate environmental, psycho-educational and behavioral interventions for older adults and their family caregivers to improve sleep, functioning and quality of life and promote aging in place.

Dr. Griffiths presentation will discuss the use of technology with older adults (veterans) and their caregivers, including current funded work and future initiatives at the Rehab Research and Development Center US Department of Veterans Affairs that utilize e-Health and tele-rehabilitation technologies for older adults.
