The Dr. Steven W. McLaughlin Bridge Builder Award recognizes individuals within the Office of the Provost who exemplify Georgia Tech’s commitment to fostering an engaged and values-driven workplace culture. This award honors those who actively contribute to a positive organizational environment by strengthening community, championing belonging, promoting collaboration, and enhancing the lived experiences of colleagues and stakeholders across the Institute.  In selecting an inaugural winner, the Employee Engagement and Culture Council (EECC) sought someone who:

• fosters a culture of connection, understanding, and respect in daily interactions with colleagues,
• undertakes efforts that positively impact Georgia Tech,
• extends efforts across multiple Georgia Tech departments, units, or entities to promote a positive work environment and employee engagement, and 
• promotes employee engagement and a positive work culture in alignment with the Institute’s core values.

This year, the EECC has named Amie Raines, Program and Operations Manager for the John H. Martinson Honors Program, the inaugural recipient of the award.  Her accomplishments include building partnerships across multiple student support units and increasing participation in the Honors Leadership Council from approximately 45 to 75 students in a single academic year.  In her nomination letter, Dr. David Torello stated that

In her time at Georgia Tech, Amie has become one of the most impactful culture builders, collaborators, and student-centered professionals I have had the privilege to work alongside. She exemplifies the spirit of this award through her ability to connect people, strengthen relationships across organizational boundaries, and create environments where students and colleagues feel valued and supported. She is wholly and enthusiastically dedicated to the success, well-being, and development of everyone around her, and I am incredibly fortunate to have her on the JMHP team.
