The CTRL+CM Speaker Series, presented by the Collective Impact of Creative Technology (CICT) Program, launches its 2026-2027 academic year with a thought-provoking conversation on the intersection of artificial intelligence, history, and human memory. The event will explore how AI-generated historical experiences are shaping education, cultural preservation, and public engagement with the past, while addressing ethical considerations regarding authenticity, representation, and historical interpretation.

This is the first event of the 2026-2027 academic year for the CTRL+CM Speaker Series, presented by Georgia Tech's Collective Impact of Creative Technology (CICT) Program. This interdisciplinary conversation explores how advances in artificial intelligence are transforming the ways we engage with history, memory, and historical figures.

The discussion will feature Joel Silverman, creator of the GT Arts Einstein Project; La'Neice Littleton, Senior Historian and Director of Community Collaborations at the Atlanta History Center; and Brian Magerko, Regents' Professor and James and Mary Wesley Chair for New Media Studies at Georgia Tech. Together, they will examine the opportunities and challenges AI presents for education, museums, storytelling, and public history, while exploring important questions surrounding authenticity, historical interpretation, representation, bias, and consent.
