On select Thursday evenings during the academic year, the Georgia Tech School of Physics invites you to observe various bright celestial objects.  These observing events are free and open to everyone.

On the grounds between the Howey and Mason Buildings, several telescopes are typically set up for viewing, and visitors are also welcome to bring their own telescopes.

The Public Nights are contingent on clear weather.

• November 19 at 7 to 9 p.m. - Moon, Albireo, and Saturn

Spring 2027 Semester

• January 14 at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - Moon, Saturn, and the Orion Nebula
• February 25 at 8 to 10 p.m. - Orion Nebula, Jupiter, and Mars
• March 18 at 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. - Moon, Jupiter, and Mars
• April 15 at 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. - Moon, Jupiter, and Mars
