PTS to Pilot On-Demand Van Service to and From Science Square District This Summer
Primary tabs
As part of a pilot program, Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) will provide transportation to and from Science Square and the North Avenue Research Area (NARA) via the OnDemand Stingerette service from Monday, May 11, through Friday, Aug. 7. During this time, the Stinger shuttle bus will not service this area via its normal fixed route. Riders will now need to request a ride on the Stingerette using the TransLoc mobile app. This service will function the same as the nighttime OnDemand Stingerette service.
This daytime on-demand service provides transportation for students, faculty, and staff traveling between campus, NARA, and Science Square, with two convenient on-campus pickup and drop-off locations at the Marcus Nanotechnology Building and the Weber Space Science and Technology Building. Wait times will depend on demand, with an expected average of five to 10 minutes. Vehicles are shared, and riders may be grouped with other riders.
Rides must be requested through the TransLoc App, which can be downloaded here. The TransLoc App is the official app for Georgia Tech transportation and the only app that can be used to request a ride for the Science Square and NARA service.
Normal bus service for the Science Square and NARA route will resume on Monday, Aug. 10.
