Digital Media Demo Day 2026
Primary tabs
The Digital Media Research Showcase opens its doors on Thursday, April 23, on the third floor of the Technology Square Research Building. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Digital Media researchers, faculty, and graduate students while exploring demonstrations of their newest interactive artifacts and experimental media projects.
Featured projects include Chatbot of Truth, a 6.7-foot interactive installation by Chengzhi Zhang inspired by the Mouth of Truth in Rome. The piece allows users to place their hand inside the sculpture and ask a yes-or-no question, prompting responses from a chatbot system designed to demonstrate the strengths and limitations of generative AI.
Other works include Future of Dance by Jasmine Kaur, which explores the potential cultural and creative impact of artificial intelligence on dance through speculative design methods, and Fool Your Friend, an interactive touchscreen game where players try to identify AI-generated social media posts among real ones. The showcase also features Marshland Exhibit, a phygital experience designed for Georgia Aquarium’s Explorer’s Cove, along with projects such as Digital Posthuman Tree Journal, BioVR, and Interface Model of Reality Mediation, which investigate topics like biofeedback-driven VR and mixed reality classification.
The event offers a preview of emerging research and creative technologies while giving attendees the chance to interact directly with the projects and speak with their creators.
