2026 Global Media Festival: Screening of L’océan Vu Du Cœur and Q&A with Director Marie-Dominique Michaud

Primary tabs

The screening of L’océan Vu Du Cœur is part of Georgia Tech’s 2026 Global Media Festival, an annual series that brings international stories into dialogue with pressing social, cultural, and ethical questions. This year’s theme, Sustaining Empathy in a Fractured World, focuses on empathy as an active and practiced capacity, vital for maintaining human connections in challenging contexts.

Following the film, director Marie-Dominique Michaud will lead a Q&A, giving attendees insight into the filmmaking process and the environmental messages behind the story. A panel discussion with members of the Québec Delegation will expand on themes of ecological responsibility, biodiversity, and the importance of fostering empathy toward the natural world.

The festival includes 11 events in total, featuring 10 international film screenings and conversations with directors, scholars, and experts, as well as an introductory directing workshop. All events are free and open to the public, with refreshments provided to encourage informal discussion and engagement with the themes of empathy and sustainability.
