Guru Vandana
Primary tabs
In the Hindu tradition, the relationship between a student and a teacher is considered one of the most sacred bonds in life. The word "Guru" itself carries profound meaning: "Gu" translates to darkness or ignorance, and "Ru" signifies the removal of that darkness. Therefore, a Guru is not just an instructor, but a "remover of darkness" who guides a student toward wisdom and self-realization. At Georgia Tech, our professors are the architects of our future. They challenge us to think critically, innovate fearlessly, and persevere through rigor. Our Guru Vandana event is designed to bring the ancient spirit of gratitude into our modern campus life. This invitation brings students and faculty to share a meal together and connect with other students and faculty alike. We will have performances and a formal recognition of our 'Vandana' to our professors acknowledging their role in shaping our intellectual and personal journeys.
