How to Find Meaningful Work: Identifying Your Why Collaboration with Exploratory Advising (In-Person)

This interactive workshop invites students to reflect on their values, interests, and motivations to better understand what “meaningful work” means to them. In collaboration with Exploratory Advising, participants will explore strategies for identifying their personal “why” and how it can guide their academic and career decisions. Through guided activities and discussion, students will begin to align their goals with opportunities that resonate with their sense of purpose and fulfillment.
By the end of this session, students will be able to:
- Define what “meaningful work” means to them based on personal values, interests, and strengths.
- Identify their core motivations and how these influence academic and career choices.
- Explore strategies for aligning their “why” with potential majors, internships, and career paths.
- Reflect on how self-awareness can enhance decision-making and long-term career satisfaction.
- Engage with campus resources, including the Career Center and Exploratory Advising, to support their journey toward purposeful work
