WST Learning Community dinner with Dr. Hallie Lieberman

On Monday, February 16, 6-7pm, Hallie Leiberman, journalist and historian, will meet with WST Learning Community residents and other interested Georgia Tech students in Stein House study lounge. Dinner will be available for all participants. Non-residents who wish to join should RSVP to Carol Colatrella (carol.colatrella@lmc.gatech.edu).
Biography: An affiliate of Ivan Allen College, Hallie Lieberman is a sex historian and journalist. She holds a master’s in advertising from the University of Texas-Austin and a PhD in mass communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She previously taught gender studies, media studies, and communicating science and technology at Georgia Tech and is now working full-time as a writer.
She’s currently working on a book on the history of gigolos: male sex workers with female clients. She’s the author of Buzz: A Stimulating History of the Sex Toy, which was reviewed in The New York Times, Washington Post, and other outlets. Her writing has appeared in BuzzFeed News, New York Times, Washington Post, Vice, and many other places. BUZZ has been named a New York Post must-read book, a Bitch- magazine must-read book, and a Bookriot must-read.
