The Freshman Cake Race is a half-mile race held annually on the morning of the Homecoming football game. The tradition of the race dates back 113 years, when, in 1911, it started as an open cross-country race for students. Over the years, the race has transitioned from a cross-country team tryout into a fun way to kick off the Homecoming game day. The race is open to all first-year Georgia Tech students who are encouraged to run, jog, or walk the course. Every participant will get a free cupcake at the finish line and the winners will be honored by the Ramblin' Royalty!

Will you have vegan/nut-free/dairy-free/gluten-free cupcakes? Yes!

Do I have to run? Definitely not, most participants choose to walk and go through the course just for the fun and tradition of it!
