EAS Seminar Series - Dr. Yuki Miura

Primary tabs

Floods are among the most devastating natural hazards, disrupting communities and critical infrastructure worldwide. This talk presents state-of-the-art, data-driven approaches that are informed by institutional decision-making processes to identify, measure, and manage flood risks in urban environments. Leveraging advances in remote sensing, machine learning, and high-resolution modeling, we demonstrate how integrating diverse datasets can support hazard prediction, optimize adaptation strategies, and inform resilience planning. By bridging science and decision-making, this work offers actionable insights for managing flood risks in an era of increasing uncertainty.
