As the second-leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., colorectal cancer is rising in the number of cases in younger adults. To combat this and offer a less-invasive alternative to a colonoscopy, Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering Assistant Professor Leslie Chan and her lab has been awarded a grant to develop an innovative diagnostic to detect colorectal cancer through a simple breath test.
