Abstract:  In this short seminar Dr. Mujica will talk about the important and exciting opportunities in engineering careers in HW and silicon.

Bio: Fernando obtained the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech and the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas, Venezuela.  He has been with Apple, Inc. since 2015 and is currently Director of Engineering in the Hardware Technologies group.  Since 2014, Fernando has also been an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, where he teaches digital signal processing.  He also serves as a member of the Georgia Tech ECE advisory board.  From 2000 until 2015, Fernando was with Texas Instruments, Inc.  Fernando and the teams that he led developed innovative signal processing solutions in a wide range of applications including communications systems, pre-distortion of RF power amplifiers, analog to digital converter compensation, loud speaker protection, signal processing VLSI architectures, massively parallel multi-core programmable co-processors, and autonomous systems.  He has been granted more than 25 US patents.  Fernando's research interests are in the general area of efficient hardware implementations of signal processing systems.
