PACE-ARTISAN Workshop Apr 7 Monday 2:00-5:00PM
Accessing Science & Engineering Applications integrated with Local & National HPC Resources
Presenter – Sudhakar Pamidighantam, Associate Director ARTISAN center, IDEaS IRI, Georgia Institute of Technology, spamidig@gatech.edu
Would you like your computational workflows organized, reproducible, potentially sharable with collaborators?
Would you like your workflows to be able to easily transition from local to campus and national resources?
Intended Audience: Users of HPC resources
This workshop provides an overview of a framework for enabling scientists and engineers to manage their computational workflows through an integrated application-resource set.
The framework will enable job submission and management, and data flows needed for the execution of jobs on remote High-Performance Computer (HPC) systems and data processing after the execution. This workshop will show case a few domain-specific web portals to demonstrate several different user interfaces to provide an idea of how they can help early users to intermediate users. Interfaces to enable, monitor and potential trouble shoot problems will be briefly discussed.
We will have hands-on experience with these science and engineering portals that touch on some popular applications and HPC resources. A python-based notebook will be used for potential power users to directly interact with the portal APIs.
A brief introduction to the ARTISAN group that develops such frameworks and provides hosted services will be presented. New developments include advanced interfaces to enable end-to-end computational science workflows to be demonstrated in upcoming workshops at Georgia Tech. We will conclude with a brief survey of participant needs for integrated HPC services.
