Steve Bannerman is a dynamic technology and entertainment executive currently serving as head of post-production and visual effects for International Originals at Amazon MGM Studios. With a career spanning over three decades, Bannerman has established himself as a visionary leader in post-production, visual effects, and technology innovation. His journey began at Hayes Modems in Atlanta and London, followed by a significant twelve-year tenure at Apple, where he played a pivotal role in developing and launching QuickTime and managing the Power Macintosh product line.
Throughout his career, Bannerman has demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial spirit and leadership abilities, founding Caststream Inc., which was later acquired by Oracle, and serving as CEO of Local Hero and later REAL by FAKE, where he oversaw prestigious television shows and independent films. His expertise in building and managing international teams is particularly evident in his current role at Amazon MGM Studios, where he established the company's first international movies post team, delivering 40 movies annually worldwide and spearheading the transition to cloud-based workflows.
A Georgia Tech graduate with a BSIM in business/engineering, Bannerman has consistently been at the forefront of technological innovation in the entertainment industry. His portfolio includes work on award-winning projects such as Big Little Lies (Emmy winner), Sharp Objects (Golden Globe winner) and Argentina 1985 (Oscar nomination, Golden Globe Winner).
