AI Partnership to Revolutionize Access & Use of Historical Collections

In a move set to transform the field of archival management, Heritage Werks has entered into a groundbreaking partnership with Tech AI, the AI hub at Georgia Tech. This collaboration aims to revolutionize the cataloging, access, and preservation of historical collections, setting new standards for digital asset management through advanced artificial intelligence (AI).

Traditional archives often face challenges related to scale, accessibility, and context. Tech AI is addressing these issues by leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. These advancements enhance the accessibility, organization, and long-term digital preservation of valuable historical collections.

Through this partnership, Tech AI is strategically developing advanced AI models that enable multimodal content integration, allowing users to seamlessly search and interact with content. By aligning technical innovation with strategic goals, this type of collaboration ensures that historical content remains accessible, relevant, and valuable in the digital age, reinforcing Tech AI's leadership in AI-driven knowledge preservation.

Further fueling this innovation is Heritage Werks' acquisition of NetX, a global leader in digital asset management (DAM). This acquisition integrates NetX’s advanced DAM technology with Heritage Werks’ AI-driven solutions, enhancing archival discovery, metadata enrichment, and strategic insights for a wide range of industries.

“Partnering with Heritage Werks is an incredible opportunity to apply Georgia Tech’s cutting-edge AI research to real-world challenges in archival management,” said Pascal Van Hentenryck,, A. Russell Chandler III Chair and professor, and the director of both Tech AI and the NSF Artificial Intelligence Institute for Advances in Optimization (NSF AI4OPT). “We’re not only preserving history but are also reimagining how it can be experienced.”

By harnessing the power of AI, this partnership enables organizations to make their historical collections more discoverable, engaging, and valuable in the digital age.
