CoC Alumnus Receives $50,000 for Alzheimer's Research

Anind Dey (Ph.D. in Computer Science, 2000) has been awarded aresearch grant from Microsoft's Intelligent Systems for AssistedCognition RFP for his work on creating a system to help patients withAlzheimer's recall episodic memories more effectively. Dey, now anAssistant Professor in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Instituteat Carnegie Mellon University, is developing and evaluating a memoryprosthesis that uses contextual cues and automated techniques fordetermining what cues will help with memory recollection.
