Bio
Iris Tien, Williams Family Early Career Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech, joined the faculty in 2014 after earning her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. Her expertise includes infrastructure resilience, probabilistic risk assessment, data analytics for smart cities, and decision making under uncertainty. Tien's research, funded by NSF, DHS, USDOT, and NIST, has received numerous awards. She organized the session on Resilient Infrastructure at the U.S. Frontiers of Engineering Symposium and was honored with the Early Achievement Research Prize by IASSAR.
