Postcolonialism and Media: An Interdisciplinary Symposium

This symposium explores the intersection of two frameworks: postcolonial methodologies and media studies. Postcolonial theory explores how colonialism continues to shape the culture, politics, economics, and identities of colonized and formerly colonized peoples as well as the cultures of former and current colonizers. Media Studies investigates the production, dissemination, and reception of media. Both fields examine questions of representation and power.
