Alternative Service Break: Nashville Trip

Join us on a volunteer journey with ASB to Nashville! If you love the tunes of the South and hands-on community work, come volunteer in Nashville! There, you can help at local foodbanks, volunteer with kids, take part in community cleanups, and explore the musical heartbeat of Music City. ASB trips are group-oriented community service trips that promote student leadership development, personal reflection, and education around service issues. This year's Spring Break trip will be held during Georgia Tech's Spring Break, March 18th- 22nd.  

Note: this application is non-binding and you will have the option to accept or deny your place on a trip once decisions are released on 2/11

Please note: All transportation is provided and participants must travel with the group to and from the work site. All participants must also provide proof of health insurance and must be in good standing with the Institute in order to participate on a trip.

Participant Expectations:
- Display commitment to community service and to the group
- Actively participate at the work site and in reflection activities
- Refrain from using alcohol or other drugs while on the Alternative Break trip
- Respect others, and keep an open mind and a positive attitude
- Represent yourself and Georgia Tech with the highest integrity
- Pay trip fees and deposits in a timely manner 
- Provide information to the ASB Executive Board in order to improve the organization after the trip has concluded
- Help ASB fundraise to continue the reduced costs of current and future trips
- Attend trip training meeting

Selection Process Timeline:

  • Friday, February 9th 11:59pm - Participant Application due
  • Sunday, February 11th -  Participant decisions released
  • Sunday, February 18th 11:59pm - deadline to turn in the first deposits
  • Friday, March 1st -  deadline to turn in the second deposits
  • March 18th - 22nd - Spring break trip!
